Summoner's Chess

Chess Style Tactics Game

Overview

Picture a chessboard, but instead of the traditional pieces, you're building and commanding an army that you've crafted yourself. You're drawing from a deck of cards that represents your faction's unique characters, each with their own skills and strategies.

The game's dynamic revolves around planning, prediction, and tactics, just like a game of chess. But unlike chess, the variety of units and their unique abilities introduce an additional layer of depth and unpredictability. The game is not just about moving pieces around the board, but also using their unique abilities at the right time for maximum impact.

Each game feels like a carefully crafted battle, where strategic decisions are paramount. From the way you assemble your deck to the maneuvers you make on the board, each choice you make affects the flow of the game. The feeling of watching your strategies come to life on the battlefield is a core part of the game's appeal.

And remember, just like in chess, it's not over until it's over. Even when the odds seem against you, a well-thought-out strategy can turn the tide. This game rewards forward-thinking and clever strategy, giving it a depth and richness that keeps players coming back.

Factions

Order

The Order faction evokes the traditionalist, using defensive strategies that maintain the status quo of classic chess pieces. Playing to the board with good fundamentals of trades and sacrifice is key.

Control

The Control faction, by contrast, thrives on fluidity and adaptability. They have a myriad of ways to maneuver without consuming your entire turn, making it a tricky faction to keep up with!

Chaos

The Chaos faction revels in unpredictability, aiming to disrupt and surprise; with tools to dispatch dangerous targets without getting any feathers dirty, as those feathers will be required for a more literal take on sacrifice.

Power

The Power faction focuses on sheer strength, building up formidable forces to overpower the enemy. Their units are the largest, both in strength and risk; each having an explosive power that must be handled with respect!

Rules

Each turn, you have one command to use on a unit you control.

Generals and minions exert for one devotion of their faction. Use this devotion to summon powerful champions and legends!

Cards don't use your command. You can play as many cards as you can afford.

Whenever a unit is captured (or sacrificed), its controller loses morale equal to its value.

You lose if your general dies or if your morale drops to or below 0.
